This application note can be used to configure the RAD-Series RADIUS Server with Cisco Access Points using Cisco's LEAP protocol. The document was originally written to serve as a guideline for configuring Secure.XS RADIUS Server. Since the Secure.XS RADIUS Server was absorbed into the RAD-Series RADIUS Server, the configuration guide is still useful for configuration through the RADIUS Server Manager starting on page 10. The Windows installation no longer applies as the Solaris and Linux RADIUS server installations.
The scenarios covered in the document include LEAP/EAP RADIUS authentication and MAC address authentication in separate VLANs configured on a dot1q AP. Accurately configuring the APs and the RADIUS server in each case is important. For non-dot1q configurations, the security related configuration remains the same while the “Radio to VLAN-mapping” configurations change.
