The RAD-Series RADIUS Server can be installed and run on systems meeting the following minimum requirements:

System Architecture

      • Oracle SPARC Architecture (with Oracle Solaris OS)
      • Intel x86 Architecture (with Linux OS)

Operating System

      • Oracle Solaris 9, 10 or 11 (on Oracle SPARC architecture)
      • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.x, 5.x or 6.x (on Intel x86 architecture)
      • Other Linux Distributions (on Intel x86 architecture)

CPU Speed

      • The RAD-Series RADIUS Server can run on any system built within the last ten years on one of the supported architectures.
      • Interlink Networks tests the RAD-Series RADIUS Server on systems with clock rates as low as 440 MHz.
      • The clock rate required for a particular application depends upon many factors including the transaction rate, authentication method and the complexity of authorization policy.

Memory

      • The RAD-Series RADIUS Server can run on any system built within the last ten years on one of the supported architectures.
      • Interlink Networks tests the RAD-Series RADIUS Server on systems with as little as 128 MB of memory.
      • The memory required for a particular application depends upon many factors including the transaction rate, authentication method and the number of simultaneous sessions supported.

Disk Space

    • About 250 MB of disk space is required to install the RAD-Series RADIUS Server and Server Manager.
    • The disk space required for a particular application depends upon many factors including the transaction rate, the accounting record format and how long logfiles are retained on the system.
